Choose the Right Yogurt to Cure Yeast Infections

Do you have a problem with yeast infections? Perhaps this is your first one and if that is the case, you're in a perfect position to be able to cure the problem once and for all. For those of us that have been dealing with yeast infections for quite some time, we realize that once they become chronic, they can be quite difficult to handle. Although there are several different natural cures that can be used in order to get rid of yeast infections, one of the best ones for you to use is yogurt. Here is a little bit about the type of yogurt that you should use to get rid of yeast infections and how you should use it.

First of, you should avoid the store-bought yogurt that typically lines the shelves of almost every grocery store. Although it does contain some yogurt cultures to a certain extent, it also contains something that is going to feed the yeast that is thriving within your body. The sugar that is added to store-bought yogurt is going to counteract any good effects that eating the yogurt is going to have for you. That is why you should avoid this type of product at all cost.

I find that there are several different types of natural yogurt that are available at many health food stores. These are an excellent choice, especially if they are cultured from soy milk or some other type of product as their base. It is also possible for you to make your own yogurt and this is an excellent choice as well. The real key is that you want the natural cultures to be able to replace some of them bacteria that may be missing from your body and encourage it to re-grow again. This will allow the balance to return that is now missing inside of you.

One of the best ways for you to use yogurt in order to cure a yeast infection is to eat it every day. It will encourage intestinal flora that will help to bring your body into a natural balance and to improve your overall health. It is also possible for you to use it topically, either putting it on a tampon and inserting it or spreading it on the area where the yeast infection is occurring. One word of warning, however, you want to make sure that you don't leave the yogurt on too long or it may become an irritant as well.

Eating Yogurt for Yeast

Regardless of what goes wrong with our body, there is going to be something in nature that can take care of it for us. For some things, it may take a very long time of constant natural treatments in order to take care of the problem but there are ailments that we suffer from which may go away fairly quickly once we begin doing something natural to help it. A good example of this is if we have yeast infections. There is a type of food that we can eat which can actually help us to overcome the yeast infection that we are experiencing.

First of all, you need to understand that in order to get a yeast infection, your body needs to be out of balance in some way or another. Typically, this occurs as a result of the natural bacteria that is present in our body being stifled and reduced. This bacteria typically keeps yeast from growing to the point where it becomes a problem. Since yeast is present in the environment all around us, it is important for our body to be able to fight it off and to keep it from growing. Many times, this imbalance comes about as a result of prolonged sickness or antibiotic use.

In order for us to treat the yeast infection naturally, we need to regain the balance in our body that was lost. One of the easiest ways for us to be able to do this is by eating yogurt every day. This is not only a good idea if we currently have a yeast infection but it is also something that you should consider doing if you are in between yeast infections. All natural yogurt that is free of sugar will help to build up the natural bacteria in your body so that it can successfully fight off any yeast infections that you are experiencing naturally.

Something else at you might want to consider is putting the yogurt directly on the area where the yeast infection is occurring. In the case of the vaginal yeast infection, you should put a little bit on the outside and then insert a tampon with yogurt on it directly into the vagina. Make sure that you don't keep it there for too long or else it may actually become an irritant. Many women have found almost immediate relief by doing this and see a drastic reduction in the amount of yeast infections that they experience.

Eating Yogurt to Get Rid of Your Yeast Infection

Although many of us would consider yeast could be the enemy, especially those of us that have suffered from yeast infections, it is not really true. Yeast is present in the world around us and it is thought that almost everyone has yeast present in the body, at least to a small degree. It is only whenever our body is allowed to get out of balance that the yeast grows to the point where it actually becomes an infection. This can cause a lot of uncomfortable problems for us and unfortunately, it may also become chronic rather easily.

The reason why chronic yeast infections are so prevalent is because many of us are treating them in the wrong way. It is an easy thing for us to run out to the drug store as soon as we recognize that we have a yeast infection and buy some over-the-counter cure. Unfortunately, this does not actually cure the problem that is causing the yeast infection but it only knocks the yeast down to numbers that are comfortable for us to have in our body. What it leaves behind, however, is the real problem with recurring yeast infections. Only the stronger yeast is allowed to remain so whenever it grows into another infection, it is much stronger than before. Eventually, it becomes an infection that is unable to be cured by over-the-counter medication.

If you are dealing with a yeast infection for the first time or even if you have chronic yeast infection, a natural cure is really the only way for you to truly get rid of it once and for all. The reason why this is the case is because natural treatments will attack the problem of the yeast infection, not the symptoms. One of the best ways for you to be able to treat a yeast infection naturally is by using yogurt.

The type of yogurt that you use to treat your yeast infection is important. Don't simply choose something from off of the grocery store shelf, it often contains preservatives and sugar which actually feed the yeast infection that you are suffering from. Choose an organic, natural yogurt and eat it every day. If you are currently suffering from a vaginal yeast infection, dip a tampon in the yogurt and insert it. It will help you to bring the body back into the balance that it needs and promote the growth of good bacteria that will keep the yeast in check.

My doctor has actually suggested this to me. She told me to try using PLAIN yogurt. The natural bacteria in it helps get rid of the overgrowth of yeast. And I don't believe that you will get maggots inside of you if you put yogurt there. You need flys to get maggots. So unless you're letting flys get access to down there I don't think you have anything to worry about. I understand this isn't for you, only a question from reading another post but, if you ever get one and if you have health insurance. Go to your doctor and ask about Diflucan. It's only 4 dollars at walmart pharmacy! Much easier and cheaper than the OTC treatments.

  • Yogurt has live cultures than can kill the bacteria causing the itch.
There is a much more efficient way to take care of that though. Get some Monistat that has a little tube of anti-itch cream with it.
The Monistat will have the yeast infection gone in no time, and the cream really relieves the itch.

  • that's kind of an old remedy. it's suppose to neutralize the ph of the vag. but it has to be plain yogurt with live cultures to be beneficial... not like the strawberrry yoplait or anything haha. so i guess you could try it, or you could just take a lactobacillus and use an otc cream.

  • don't ever ever ever ever EVER put any type of food down there. it can get up inside you and rot and cause maggots. they have meds at the drug store for yeast infections.

  • Yes, you're supposed to eat the yogurt. I wouldn't put yogurt there because the yogurt likely has a lot of sugar in it, and that feeds the yeast. Instead, go to a pharmacy and get Monistat to treat the yeast infection. Nowadays, they have, in addition to the suppositories, a bit of extra cream to spread around your vulva to relieve itching by killing the yeast.

Using Yogurt As a Topical Yeast Infection Treatment

When most of us think about yeast, we think about the process of creating bread or maybe even beer. The fact the matter is, yeast is present in the world around us and it is also present in our body at all times. It is thought that, in a healthy individual, about 50% of the time they are carrying some yeast spores with them. For the most part, the yeast is kept in check by healthy bacteria that exist in the body. Whenever the body gets out of balance, however, the yeast becomes an unfriendly invader and it grows to the point where infection occurs.
One of the main problems with people having yeast infections is the fact that they try to cure them with a pharmaceutical cream. At one time, you needed a prescription in order to use these creams but now, they are available over the counter at the local drugstore. These pharmaceutical cures do not cure you at all, they simply reduce the amount of yeast that is in your body to acceptable levels. What they leave behind, however, is a stronger strain of yeast spores that eventually grow into another infection which is more difficult to remove.
If you have a problem with recurring yeast infections because of this scenario, you should try using a natural food in order to cure the problem. Believe it or not, yogurt is able to cure the problem and it is not always necessary for you to eat it in order for you to receive the benefits. As a matter of fact, it is better for you to apply the yogurt directly to the area which contains a yeast infection if it is currently active.
Make sure that you are using an all-natural yogurt, not one that is full of preservatives and sugar. If possible, grow your own cultures as this will provide you with the most benefit. In the case of the vaginal yeast infection, you can spread a little bit of the yogurt on the area but it may also be beneficial if you dip a tampon directly into the yogurt and insert it for about 20 minutes. Be careful not to leave the yogurt on for too long or it may actually become an irritant. This will provide you with almost immediate relief and will bring your body back into a balance where it can naturally fight the yeast that has invaded it.

Will it damage a dog's ear to put drops of tea tree oil in it?

her ear makes noise when she shakes her head, like a wet slappy fluid noise. I had an experience with another dog that had an ear infection and none of the antibiotics from the vet cleared it up, the vet didn't help at all. I am going to try home remedies on this one before i go and spend all my cash on the vet. She is a longhaired dog, bordercollie, and i have clipped the hair around the ear and trimmed inside it so it can breathe and stay dry. There was brown chunks in the hair and there is a gunk coming from the inside. I don't know what is wrong with it. I was reading about earwashes that contain tea tree oil. How do i administer the tea tree oil? Drops full strength straight down the ear, or do i have to dilute it? It works as a topical bacteria killer right? ....I am also feeding her yogurt incase it is yeast.

shes old and has a heartworm infestation so severe, treating the heartworms will kill her. She will die soon anyways. She is not in pain because she isn't pawing at her ear, and as long as i don't cause her pain it doesn't matter if i take her to the vet or not, so no lecture about going to the vet.

The tea tree oil will not harm. (you can even gargle with it) it is an antibacterial. & fungicide.
But it will not get rid of the dark wax that is usually caused by ear mites. Use mineral oil once a day for 7 days, then miss 5 days and then repeat for 5 days. It is heavy and will go down into the lower ear canal. The dog will shake and loosen up the junk . Clean the wax off the ear with a warm damp cloth. The ear mites cause the ear to produce the dark wax which is defense mechanism. I have had std poodles with the same problem and it worked for them.

Asker's Comment:
She seems to like the tea tree oil on the red inflamed parts you can see... but if it gets down in the canal she goes nuts like it bothers her. maybe her eardrum has gotten a hole. she has puss and dark wax (im starting to think is rly blood). I am treating for infection then mites if necessary.

  • Tea tree oil is toxic but not as toxic as the heart worms. It is more toxic in cats because they have more of a tendency to groom themselves. So I guess that the decision is yours.
