Choose the Right Yogurt to Cure Yeast Infections

Do you have a problem with yeast infections? Perhaps this is your first one and if that is the case, you're in a perfect position to be able to cure the problem once and for all. For those of us that have been dealing with yeast infections for quite some time, we realize that once they become chronic, they can be quite difficult to handle. Although there are several different natural cures that can be used in order to get rid of yeast infections, one of the best ones for you to use is yogurt. Here is a little bit about the type of yogurt that you should use to get rid of yeast infections and how you should use it.

First of, you should avoid the store-bought yogurt that typically lines the shelves of almost every grocery store. Although it does contain some yogurt cultures to a certain extent, it also contains something that is going to feed the yeast that is thriving within your body. The sugar that is added to store-bought yogurt is going to counteract any good effects that eating the yogurt is going to have for you. That is why you should avoid this type of product at all cost.

I find that there are several different types of natural yogurt that are available at many health food stores. These are an excellent choice, especially if they are cultured from soy milk or some other type of product as their base. It is also possible for you to make your own yogurt and this is an excellent choice as well. The real key is that you want the natural cultures to be able to replace some of them bacteria that may be missing from your body and encourage it to re-grow again. This will allow the balance to return that is now missing inside of you.

One of the best ways for you to use yogurt in order to cure a yeast infection is to eat it every day. It will encourage intestinal flora that will help to bring your body into a natural balance and to improve your overall health. It is also possible for you to use it topically, either putting it on a tampon and inserting it or spreading it on the area where the yeast infection is occurring. One word of warning, however, you want to make sure that you don't leave the yogurt on too long or it may become an irritant as well.

Clothing for Yeast Infections

We all have to make choices every day and some of those choices can really affect our health, even though we may not realize it. Are you having a difficult time with yeast infections? You might be surprised to learn that it could be your clothing that is causing these problems. Although these are only general guidelines that you should follow, they can certainly promote yeast infections if you are wearing the wrong types of clothing. Here are some suggestions that can help you to overcome the problem in some way or another.

The first thing that you should avoid is wearing the wrong kind of underwear. If you're wearing underwear that is made from a material that does not breathe easily, it is not going to allow your skin to breathe and to get rid of the yeast that may be present. Whenever you're choosing the type of underwear that you're wearing, make sure that you choose one with a cotton crotch as this will help to whisk away any moisture that may be present.

Along with that, pantyhose are one of the top culprits as far as yeast infections are concerned. These tend to be rather tight which keeps the moisture in place, providing a prime environment for the yeast to grow. Along with that, they also don't breathe very well and many of them do not contain the right type of crotch to make sure that the area is as dry as possible. If you must wear pantyhose because of work, opt for the type that only goes up as high as you need them to go.

One final thing that you might want to try avoiding are tight fitting clothing of any sort. Even though you may think that it looks good, and more than likely it does, it's still gives the yeast an opportunity to grow because it keeps the moisture in place. You might be surprised to learn that tight fitting clothing not only promotes yeast infections in the genital area, it also may create an environment in which yeast and grow in other areas of the body, such as underneath the breasts.

The best thing that you can do if you're having a difficult time with yeast infections is to wear clothing that is not too tight fitting and that breathes easily. Although it is a small step, it is one that you can take toward not having a problem with yeast infections any longer.

Getting it right, diagnosing yeast infection

Knowing what you have is always part of the battle. In case of medical conditions it is highly important to get the right diagnosis to get receive the proper treatments. In some cases, a wrong assessment of a condition or illness will result to more complications and can even lead to death. The same is true with diagnosing yeast infection. More often than not, people will not consult their doctors because they believe that what they have read on the internet suffice to make an accurate diagnosis of the condition that they have. Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

Yeast infection has been one of the more common infections that are often misdiagnosed. Thinking that what they have is yeast infection, women will often buy and apply various treatments in their attempt to cure a condition that they do not have in the first place. So instead of being cured of a simple condition, these women will end up with a more complicated condition requiring full treatment procedures. They will then have to spend twice the time and twice the money for their treatment. It’s totally a waste.

Why does this keep happening? There are a number of reasons really but one of them is the fact that we think we’re better than the doctors we come to for help. Some of us think that we are paying these doctors too much for simple diagnosis that we can do ourselves. Or we think we are paying too much for the medicine that they prescribe.

Other times we find our selves in a position as experts in a filed few, if there’s one at all, of us really know about. Just because we have experienced having an itch or infection once or twice we think that we already know everything, from causes to treatments. When faced with an itching predicament, first thing you should do is wash the area with soap and warm water. This way you can eliminate some of the other causes of itchiness in the affected area.

Now in terms of cleaning the affected region, one should avoid using various products like douches and hygiene washes since these can easily irritate more the vaginal area. Also, keep in mind that antibiotics can aggravate yeast infection so it is recommended that one should not take any antibiotic pills when one has yeast infection. In fact, even taking a single antibiotic pill can worsen the infection.

Also, it is best not to panic in situations that you think you have yeast infection. Sometimes the whitish discharge is just part of your menstrual cycle. The same goes with pain and discomfort. However, if you are feeling pain that seems to quite unusual, then consulting your doctor would be the best action you should take.

Recurring infections should also be looked at by your doctor. If despite several medications, the infection keeps coming back bringing with it the other symptoms of the condition, then checking with your doctor is an absolute necessity. There may be some underlying conditions behind which you failed to notice or failed to consider.

Diagnosing yeast infection should not be done by amateurs like you and me. Getting a right diagnosis is imperative to have a treatment schedule that would efficiently help you solve your existing problems.

Question about Candidiasis?

This is a bit embarrassing...but, can anyone share solid information about candidiasis...not just a vaginal yeast infection, but the whole body type. I have done extensive reading and some of it can scare the padoody out of you....so many of the articles discussing this condition somewhere in the information mention HIV/AIDS>....has anyone been diagnosed with candidiasis and followed through with an effective treatment plan that worked...If so please share.
Thank you very much.

The first thing you MUST do immediately is remove ALL refined sugar and fermented products from your diet. It wouldn't hurt to quit eating grains as well. Glucose (which is the carbohydrate we call blood sugar) only feeds this blooming yeast infection. Then add caprylic acid to your diet. Encapsulated supplements are available for cheap. That should do the trick in two or three weeks.

Don't be frightened by the AIDS/HIV thing. These folks are at risk for any infection you can name, but they don't own candida.

  • Oral Candidiasis is also called thrush. It is a yeast infection of the mouth, gums and tongue. It cannot be passed to another person. The fungus is treated with an antibiotic. Vulvovaginal Candidiasis is a yeast infection, uncomfortable but not serious. To prevent yeast infections (anywhere): wear clean cotton underpants or pantyhose with a cotton crotch; keep the vaginal and other areas clean and dry; practice safe sex (condoms); wipe from front to back after urinating or having a bowl movement; take showers instead of baths to help keep your from getting another yeast infection (spreading); do not eat yogurt; do not douche unless your caregiver says it is okay; do not eat alot of foods with sugar, or drink fluids that contain alcohol; do not spend long periods in hot tubs; do not use strong perfumes or soaps; do not use feminine hygiene sprays, powders, or bubble bath. Hope this helps you out.
